Donald Andrew Hill

Our beloved dad, grandfather, brother and uncle, Donald Andrew Hill, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018. He was born in Chillicothe, Missouri on March 9, 1928 to Alva Lee and Florence (Schneider) Hill. After graduating high school in Boulder, Colorado, Don served in the Navy and then had a career as a printer in Santa Barbara, CA (Campus Press which printed the UCSB Student newspaper), he owned a houseboat rental business in Stockton, CA and owned Incline Printing in Incline Village, NV. He also owned Bullseye Software with his son, Don Hill, Jr who developed games for Apple software. He enjoyed time with his family, boating, European travel and making folk art. Don and his wife, Doris (Fick) Hill were married February 18, 1950. They raised three children in Goleta, CA then moved to Incline Village where they owned a print shop until they retired to the Carson Valley, NV.. He enjoyed his Nevada family and out of state family that visited frequently. He kept them close by posting photos of them all around his home. Don was happily reunited with his daughter from his first marriage, Stephanie in 2002. He has three daughters Stephanie Stanford (Bob); Leanna Anderson (John); Dianna English (Larry) and one son, Donald A. Hill Jr., seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents Alva Lee and Florence Hill, kid sister, June Rozelle, baby brother, Daniel; Brother, Alva Lee Hill, Jr.;wife, Doris (Fick) Hill, sister Alice (Hill) Schweninger; and son, Donald A Hill, Jr. While there was no service for Don, his family celebrated his life with stories and photos while they were together in June. A family reunion is being planned for June 2019 in Nevada and his ashes will be placed with his wife and son’s at that time. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care for Don by St. Mary’s Hospice and Home Instead then the kind and efficient help given by Autumn Funerals and Cremations.
