December 16, 1934 - February 9, 2013
William was born in Tulsa Oklahoma to Ben Stephens, a lawyer and Annie May Barry, a lawyer, on December 16, 1934. Mr. Stephens attended and graduated from High School in Tulsa and later attended the University of Oklahoma and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering on June 19, 1960. William then served in the United States Army until 1965. William then left to Los Angeles where he worked for Litton Data Systems as a computer programmer until he retired. He met Stacey Cooper, his lifelong companion, when he moved to Los Angeles and had a son, Chris Cooper. In 1993, he moved his family to Carson City Nevada where he worked at Wal-Mart as Carson City's favorite door greeter. William loved to work on his truck. He loved the sound of a fast engine. Williams’s family was the most important thing to him. His lifelong companion Stacey was the smile on his face, his son, Chris and Grandson, Christian, where the light of his life, and the song in his heart. A man as great as William is something you only find once in a lifetime. He was always concerned with everyone’s happiness around him and made sure, no matter who you where, that you had what you needed. His own happiness was of no concern to him, just as long as you had a smile on your face and that is what made him the greatest and kindest man to friends, family, and anyone who crossed his path. He is survived and forever loved by his son, Chris Cooper of Carson City, Daughter in Law, Cristal Cooper of Carson City, grandson, Christian Cooper of Carson City, and lifelong companion, Stacey Cooper of Carson City.
