William Bertrand Hixenbaugh

William B. Hixenbaugh, Jr. (Bill) 83, of Carson City passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at his home. He was born Dec. 25, 1929 at Fairmont, WV to William and Gertrude Hixenbaugh. The family moved to Stonewood, WV in 1942, and he graduated a year early from Roosevelt Wilson High School with honors and was class president . Bill attended one year at West Virginia University and then married Betty Jean Workman in 1949 and moved to Cleveland, Ohio. He and Betty had three children, Sally, David and Steven. He and Betty divorced in 1964, and Bill later married Donna Sue Rean on June 22,1968. Bill worked as a salesman always becoming top salesperson, owned U.S. Chemical in Ohio, and retired from Marson Corporation in Sparks, NV. Bill was active in the Masons, Shriners, Jesters, Washoe County Search & Rescue, Civil Air Patrol, U. S. Marshall Posse. Bill was a pilot and a Rubicon enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Donna Sue of the family home, daughter Sally (Wallace) Bailar, Dave Hixenbaugh; Steve (Annette) Hixenbaugh and grandchildren Stephen, Christine, Justin, Amy (Shawn); Andrea (John), Danielle, and great grandchildren Tyler, Angelina, Hunter and Jett. He is also survived by Stepchildren Sharon Blasius, Donald (Linda) and Bob (Jean) Blake. Step-grandchildren are Amanda, Melissa and Jacob, Jonas, Aaron, Dakota, Jason, Sara, Jonathan, Judy and great grandchildren Sammy, Zoey, and Anna. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Robert, Homer and Frank.
