Life Legacy Patricia Lynn Messer passed away peacefully in Carson City, NV on June 8, 2016 at the age of 65. Patricia is survived by 7 sisters and 1 brother - sisters Anna Messer of Cuba, NM, daughters Jaime and Tanya, Bulinda Messer of Albuquerque, daughters Athena, Meranda and Seka, Kay Woodward of Lake Dallas and son, Phillip, Roberta Burson, husband Randy of Los Lunas, NM and son Randy, Janice Scales, husband Billy, of Wheeler, TX and son Carl and daughter, Jennifer, Sam Depue, husband Bert of Waco, TX and daughter Corie, Pam Albright of Wheeler, TX, brother, Michael Messer, wife Martha, and daughters Nikki, Jennifer and Shannon, nephew Glenn Keelin, and nieces Michele Weber and Sue Erwin. Patricia also is survived by her dear cat, Zsa Zsa and a near and dear circle of close friends who she considers her family. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Leon Messer and Illena Vick Albright, sister, Elaine Craig, 2 infant siblings and niece, Scarlett Woodward. Patricia was born on July 17, 1950 in Athens, TX to Leon and Illena Messer. She graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Patricia was a Senior Systems Analyst at the City of Reno from 2002 until 2015 when she retired. She lived in San Francisco prior to Carson City where she worked for Levi Strauss as a computer programmer. Patricia was unique and gifted in her talents as both a programmer and artist. Patricia loved all cultural things – art, music, people, books and movies. She was a kind, warm, generous and funny woman with a tremendous heart. Her wicked sense of humor was amazing. Her ability to make others laugh was remarkable, She was definitely one of a kind. Pat had an amazing empathy for animals and LOVED her cats, who she always considered her children. A celebration of her life is scheduled in Overton, TX for Monday, June 20th at 5:00 p.m. where her ashes will be spread at the grave of her best friend and sister, Elaine. A second celebration is planned for August with her very dear friends in the Reno/Carson City area at Lake Tahoe. In lieu of flowers, Patricia would be honored for you to donate to the animal rescue or humane society of your choice.
